About UPESEAT 2025 Exam
UPES, a self-financed institution established in 2003 through the UPES Act, 2003 of Uttarakhand, is recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. The university is known for its industry-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Candidates can secure admission to the B.Tech programs through multiple routes:
- UPESEAT 2025 – 80% of the total seats are allocated through this exam.
- JEE Main 2025 Scorecard – 20% of seats are reserved for JEE Main qualifiers and board merit holders.
- Board Merit, SAT, and CUET Scores – Candidates meeting certain academic thresholds are also eligible through these channels.
UPESEAT 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Both Indian nationals and foreign candidates are eligible to apply for the UPESEAT exam.
- Age Criteria: Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2000.
- Educational Qualification: Applicants must have completed or appeared in the Class 12th examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Minimum Marks Requirements
- Candidates must achieve at least 50% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12.
- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are mandatory subjects for applicants. They must secure a 50% aggregate in PCM at the Class 12 level.
- Students with 80% or higher marks in both Class 10 and 12 may apply directly for counselling without taking the UPESEAT exam.
- Alternative Admission Options
- JEE Main: Candidates with a valid JEE Main score above the specified cut-off are exempt from UPESEAT and can directly participate in counselling.
- Board Merit: Applicants meeting the 80% mark threshold in Class 10 and 12 are eligible to skip the entrance exam and participate in counselling.
- SAT & CUET Scores: Candidates can also gain admission through SAT or CUET results, with a minimum SAT score of 50% required.
- Eligibility for Class 12 Appearing Students: Students who are appearing for their Class 12 exams in 2025 can apply for UPESEAT provisionally, provided they meet the eligibility criteria upon results declaration.
UPESEAT 2025 Exam Pattern
The UPESEAT 2025 exam will follow a computer-based format with multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The UPESEAT 2025 exam will have a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes).
- Exam Mode: UPESEAT 2025 will be conducted as an online Computer-Based Test (CBT). In case of a center-based exam, candidates will be informed accordingly.
- Language and Type of Questions: The question paper will be available only in English. All questions will be Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Duration: The duration for online exam is 2 hours (120 minutes). The duration for Center-based exam (if applicable) is 3 hours.
- Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will receive 1 mark. No negative marking will be applied for incorrect responses.
