About NEET UG Exam
NEET UG 2026 is an entrance exam for students who want to pursue undergraduate medical and dental programs (MBBS, BDS) and other allied medical courses in government, private, and deemed universities across India.
NEET stands for National Eligibility and Entrance Test. It is regarded as the most important entrance examination for admission to medical courses in India. The National Testing Agency conducts NEET UG annually for eligible candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical programs.
Admission through NEET is granted under All India Quota as well as State Quota seats across participating institutions.

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2026
Domicile Certificate:
- NEET 2026 applications are available to Indian citizens.
- According to the updated eligibility requirements, NRIs, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals are now eligible.
- To be eligible for the NEET 2026 exam, candidates must be at least 17 years old.
- The National Medical Commission (NMC) removed the maximum age limit for NEET.
- Candidates must have obtained at least 50% of their marks in the Class 12th examination.
- For PWD candidates, the minimum percentage required is 45% in PCB.
- The required minimum aggregate score for SC/ST candidates in PCB is 40%.
- Within the specified age range for NEET, there is no limit on the number of attempts.
- Candidates can apply for NEET 2026 without acquiring an Aadhaar card, according to a new rule by the Supreme Court.
- Therefore, those not living in India can still appear for the exam.

NEET 2026 Exam Pattern
Candidates can refer to the NEET 2026 exam pattern given below for the paper. The examination consists of one paper with multiple-choice questions.Questions are from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes (3 hours).
- The NEET 2026 examination consists of one paper with 180 MCQ-type questions.
- The paper is divided equally among the subjects, with 45 questions from each subject.
- The total marks for the NEET 2026 exam are 720 marks.
- NTA has increased the exam duration by 20 minutes, making it 3 hours and 20 minutes.
- The NEET 2026 Question Paper will have 180 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Each subject had two sections, A and B, with Section A having 35 questions and Section B consisting of 15 questions.
- Candidates were required to answer only 10 questions out of the 15 in Section B for each subject.
- For every correct answer, +4 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
