Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH CET) is the state-level entrance exam conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell, Maharashtra, for enrollment in an MBA/MMS management program in Maharashtra state. More than 400 colleges and institutes accept MAH CET to enroll students in various management programs.

MAH CET is a computer-based exam conducted once a year in March. The application fee for the registration of MAH CET 2025 is INR 1000 for the unreserved category (general) and Rs 800 for the reserved category. Approx 2 lakh candidates registered for MAH CET 2025.

About MAH CET 2025 Exam

MAH CET 2025 is an entrance exam for admission to postgraduate management courses in Maharashtra. It is conducted once a year in March by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.

More than 300 government or private colleges or institutes accepted the MAH CET 2025 score. MAH CET 2025 offers Master’s degrees in business administration (MBA), Master’s of Management Studies (MMS), and  Post-graduate Diplomas in Management (PGDM).

MAH CET 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for registration for MAH CET 2025 are mentioned below to make the candidates better understand how to fill out the application form to get admission to colleges accepting MAH CET 2025 scores.

  • Nationality: The candidates must be an Indian citizen.
  • Educational Qualification:
    1. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for reserved categories and Persons with Disability from Maharashtra State).
    2. Final year graduation students are also eligible, but they should meet the minimum eligibility at the time of admission.
    3. Graduation marks will be considered in percentage, and the CGPA will be converted to percentage.
  • Age Limit: Minimum age required is 21 years.
  • Competitive Exams: Candidates who have appeared for CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, or GMAT are eligible to apply for All India category seats.
  • NRI Candidates: NRI, Foreign National, Foreign Student, PIO, and Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries must meet the basic educational qualifications.

MAH CET 2025 Marking Scheme

The MAH CET 2025 exam contains 200 questions for 200 marks, each containing 1 mark. For every correct answer, the candidate is awarded one mark, and for every incorrect answer, the candidate gets zero marks. Thus, there is no negative marking in the exam.

The MAH CET 2025 cutoff will be announced during the capping process, which is expected to take place from June 24, 2025 to Aug 24, 2025. There will be 2 to 3 rounds of counselling.

The highest expected cutoff is the 99.95 percentile for JBIMS Mumbai, followed by the 99.78 percentile for SIMSREE, Mumbai. There are two categories for the cutoff MAH CET 2025: Maharashtra state and all India.

MAH CET 2025 Counselling Process

Counselling for MAH CET CAP 2025 consists of three rounds, expectedly scheduled around Jun 24 – Aug 24, 2025. The answer key for the exam was released on April 1, 2025, and the final answer key was released on 14th May 2025.

Information about the counselling process for the MAH CET 2025 exam is given below:

  • Counselling for MAH CET 2025 will start with the online registration process.
  • After registration, the provision merit list will be announced by the state standard entrance test cell Maharashtra.
  • Candidates are allowed to select a 1 to a maximum of 300 choices of colleges and courses.
  • Confirm the college from which you want to pursue a specific management course.
  • Pay the seat acceptance Fee, which is Rs 1000/- only.

Eligibility Criteria for MAH CET 2025 Counselling

The eligibility criteria for candidates planning for admission to management colleges through MAH CET 2025 counselling process.

  • Maharashtra State Candidates:
    1. Candidates must have a graduation degree in any stream with at least 50% aggregate marks from a UGC-recognized university.
    2. Applicants must have a valid MAH MBA CET score.
  • Kashmiri Migrants:
    1. Candidates must be Indian citizens.
    2. Aspirants must have a graduation degree with at least 50% aggregate marks from a UGC-recognized university.
    3. Students must have qualified in any of the following entrance exams: MAH CET 2025, GMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT.
  • NRI and Foreign Nationals: Candidates must have a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.

CAP Rounds in MAH CET 2025

  • Direct Allotment: Includes seat allotments for home university seats and state-level seats for candidates from other universities.
  • CAP Round I:
    1. Involves Stage I and Stage II of the CAP process.
    2. Consists of seven stages.
  • CAP Round III: Eligible for candidates from Maharashtra whose names appear on the Maharashtra State Merit list.

MAH MBA CET CAP Round I

  • Candidates receiving their first choice allotment are not eligible for further CAP rounds and should confirm their admission at the allotted institute.
  • Applicants who receive an allotment other than their first choice but are satisfied and do not wish to participate in subsequent rounds can also confirm their admission at the allotted institute.
  • All seats filled in CAP Round I will not be available in subsequent rounds.

MAH MBA CET CAP Round II

  • The candidates who were allotted to any of the first seven possibilities will not be retained on subsequent lists and thus will not be deemed eligible to participate in the CAP rounds.
  • Students should verify the acceptance at the allocated institutions.
  • The remaining candidates may also verify their admission if they are satisfied with their CAP round II allotment, if they want to participate in further rounds, and receive an allotment different from their first seven alternatives.
  • There will be no more openings for the locked seats (candidates who have confirmed admission) in CAP round II.

MAH MBA CET CAP Round III

  • Applicants falling under the OMS (Outside Maharashtra State) classification are ineligible to take part in CAP Round III.
  • Round III will see the open seats from CAP rounds I and II that are under the jurisdiction of the appropriate authorities.
  • State Level General seats will include all seats that come under the OMS category as well as those under Backward, PH, HU, OHU, etc.
  • Candidates must confirm their assigned seat and report to the college within the allowed time.
