The JEE Advanced 2025 exam is conducted for students planning for admission to the esteemed IITs, following the JEE Main examination. The JEE Advanced 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on May 18, 2025.
A total of 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2025 exam are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam for admissions to renowned IIT colleges. The exam is conducted annually in computer-based test (CBT) mode, under the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

About JEE Advanced 2025 Exam
JEE Advanced, previously known as IIT JEE, is one of the national-level entrance examinations conducted in India for admission to numerous educational institutions and colleges for Engineering and Architecture in B.E/B.Tech, Integrated Master’s, and Dual Degree programs.
The JEE Advanced entrance exam is conducted among the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs, namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee.
Top institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, and others provide admissions to students based on their score in JEE Advanced 2025. Approximately 1,60,000 students appear for the JEE Advanced exam annually. Candidates must qualify the JEE Main 2025 exam to be eligible for the JEE Advanced exam.

JEE Advanced 2025: Eligibility Criteria
For Indian Nationals:
- Candidates must have been born on or after Oct 1, 1999.
- Aspirants should have secured a rank within the top 2,50,000 in the JEE Main 2025 B.Tech paper.
- The candidate must have appeared for the Class 12th board examination for the first time either in 2023 or 2022.
- Students who have previously been admitted to an IIT or accepted a seat in an IIT in the preceding year are not eligible.
- Similar to Indian Nationals, candidates must have been born on or after Oct 1, 1999.
- There is no requirement for a JEE Main rank.
- They must have appeared for the Class 12th board examination for the first time either in 2023 or 2022.
- Just like Indian Nationals, prior admission to an IIT or acceptance of a seat in an IIT in the previous year are not eligible.

- For questions with one or more answers:
- Correct answers will be awarded +4 marks.
- Partially correct answers will receive marks ranging from +3 to +1 depending on the partial correctness.
- Incorrect answers will have a negative marking of -2 marks.
- No marks will be deducted for unattempted answers.
- Numerical Value Type Questions:
- Correct answer will be awarded +3 marks.
- No negative marking for incorrect or unattempted answers.
- Matching List Type Questions:
- Questions with a single correct option will be awarded +3 marks for a correct match.
- Incorrect matches will have a negative marking of -1.
- No marks will be deducted for unattempted matches.

JEE Advanced 2025 Counselling Process
- JoSAA, the centralized authority, conducts the counselling for admission into IITs, NITs, ISM, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
- The counselling is conducted exclusively online.
- Only candidates listed on the JEE Advanced 2025 Merit List are eligible to participate.
- The counselling process has six phases, including registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, reporting to allotted colleges, and provisional admission.
- The schedule for JEE Advanced 2025 counselling is determined based on the candidate’s rank in the rank list.
- Minimum scores are required for admission to different IITs, IISc, and ISM participating in JEE Advanced 2025.
In case of a tie, the candidate with a higher score in the Mathematics section of JEE Advanced 2025 is given priority. - Candidates must bring a demand draft of INR 60,000 for general category and INR 20,000 for SC/ST category, along with required documents.
- Compulsory documents must be brought by candidates for the counselling process.
- Candidates are required to bring an attested copy of their valid identity proof.
